The Story

Writer, director & producer Victor Chu, was a stand-up comedian for several years during and after college and created the YouTube channel "New York Chity" which included sketches, pranks and parodies.

The movie idea started over five years ago, with bits and pieces written in Victor's head and scribbled in notes throughout the years.
As high quality cameras became more attainable, Victor decided it was time to begin on his passion project. Initially it was supposed to be a short film. As the "monk talk" scene was shot, Victor realized that the story did not fit into a 15 minute segment and made the hard decision to turn the movie into a feature. Eventually Victor felt more satisfaction and pride creating a feature film.

The script was written in a month during spring 2017 and the actors auditioned throughout the course of 2 days after that. Principal photography commenced on June 29, 2017 and the last shoot wrapped March 30, 2019. Post production is expected to complete around winter 2019.
